Get a solid introduction to Drupal 7 as well as Site Building training in this 1 day training event tailored for individuals working with the govCMS distribution. Learn about the most essential features and concepts of Drupal through hands on activities. By the end of this day you will be familiar with Drupal terminology and be able to identify how Drupal govCMS sites are constructed.
Acquia Drupal govCMS Introduction
Duration:First Half
Prerequisites:
An understanding of a Content Management System is helpful. Experience using and building websites using HTML and CSS.Because this class will be an overview and not an in-depth course, it is perfect for people who are on evaluating govCMS or who are looking for a hands-on introduction.
By the end of the training attendees will be able to:
● Configure and set up a basic Drupal site.
● Configure govCMS modules and themes.
● Select, install and configure modules and themes from Drupal.org
● Create content and configure content types.
● Create listings of content.
● Navigate a common Drupal administration panel.
● Create, edit, and manage user roles and accounts.
● Create and place blocks within a site’s layout
● Understand common Drupal terminology
Acquia Drupal 7 govCMS Site Building Training
In one day, participants will be brought up to speed on Drupal and will be ready to tackle their own site building project on the govCMS distribution. Learn how to manage media, build calendars and complex, dynamic queries of content by selecting and configuring the most popular modules.
Duration: Second Half
Prerequisites:
Experience with web development. This course is suitable both for users who are new to Drupal and those who want to broaden their Drupal skills.
By the end of the training you will be able to:
● Overview of the possibilities with Drupal
● How to manage users, create user profiles
● How to add custom content, and manage that content
● Manage navigation through Drupalʼs menu system
● Content references and relationships
● Content flagging and bookmarking
● Manage content layout with Display Suite
● Customize content administration
● Configure both controlled vocabularies and free tagging with Taxonomy
● Configure your site to improve search, through the use of URL path configuration, and configure faceted search
● Be able to configure automatically generated thumbnails
● Know how to create advanced listings of content
