About this course

When building a house you don't build the roof before you have built the kitchen! Comparatively, there are certain processes, concepts, and knowledge you need to apply in order to build a Drupal site successfully. You will learn the fundamentals of Content Types, Content Editing Tools, Taxonomy, and Content Workflows. You will learn how to leverage the Views and Devel modules to build the site you need.

Provide an in-depth understanding of tools, techniques and methods used for building websites using Drupal's core and contributed modules. Site building activities cover the most common use cases related to website design like structuring and displaying content, classifying and tagging content, building content lists, building and managing page layouts, designing and building basic user roles and workflows and applying or using themes.

Target audience

The content of this course targets people who are at the Learner-level and should move them to high-level Learner or Skilled in Drupal 7 Site Building.

Prerequisites:
An understanding of a Content Management System is helpful. Experience using and building websites using systems such as Wordpress, Joomla!, or HTML and CSS is helpful, but not essential. Drupal 7 in a day course.

By the end of the training you will be able to:

● Manage the display of content
● Classify and tag content,
● Building content lists, galleries, calendars, tables etc
● Building and manage page layouts,
● Design and build main and alternative navigations
● Define user roles, permissions and build basic workflows
