Global Drupal Learning Day Seattle
This all-day workshop is a hands-on introduction to building a mobile and desktop ready website using the free, open-source content management system Drupal.
Who Should Attend:
This training provides a hands-on introduction to Drupal. It's perfect for anyone that needs a crash-course in Drupal, including:
- Decision Makers evaluating whether Drupal is the right fit for their project or organization.
- Web Project Managers that will be, or are currently managing Drupal projects.
- Web Developers or Designers getting started with Drupal
What You Will Learn:
To start, we will introduce Drupal and content management systems and answer questions like "What can Drupal do?", "Why choose Drupal?", as well as general concepts of online content management.
Next, we will cover the basics of site building with Drupal. The instructors will introduce a simple social recipe-sharing website built in Drupal and then guide students step-by-step as each student builds out the website. Instructors will explain key Drupal site building concepts, terminology, and best practices along the way.
Last, we will cover next steps for further learning - both online and offline - and introduce the Drupal open source community and how to effectively leverage it and contribute back to it.
After completing the workshop, attendees will have a clear understanding of what Drupal is, how to build a basic desktop and mobile website with it, how to leverage and participate in the very active Drupal community, and how to continue their learning online and offline with the mobile-ready recipe sharing website they built in class. We'll also provide coffee/tea and lunch at the event.
